• Use tools like Claroty to analyse network traffic and OT hardware limitations, ensuring minimal downtime due to active scans.

• Build direct relationships with Operations teams to understand and articulate operational and cyber risk.

Maintain Security Operations:

• Maintain effective security operations processes, ensuring continuous improvement across security tools and services.

• Support an effective security operations environment using tools such as Microsoft Sentinel, SOAR, EDR/XDR, and PAM.

• Achieve reductions in repetitive alerts and improve the time taken to investigate and resolve incidents.

Proactive Risk Remediation:

• Identify, analyse, and evaluate security risks, applying a risk-based approach to implement appropriate and proportionate controls.

• Perform proactive activities such as threat hunting to uncover vulnerabilities and ensure continuous risk reduction.

• Provide tangible metrics to demonstrate risk reduction and reduced technical debt.

Incident Readiness & Response:

• Lead the incident triage and response process, ensuring effective management and remediation of cybersecurity incidents.

• Improve incident management by reducing business impacts and the time between incident identification and closure.

• Ensure the business is regularly educated on incident management procedures and that all staff know how to report cybersecurity incidents.

Continuous Improvement:

• Drive process improvements to increase operational efficiency, using automation to reduce manual tasks.

What you should bring to the role:

Essential Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with technical Cyber Security controls, preferably in an enterprise or critical infrastructure environment.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in control systems of essential services, including ICS, SCADA, and CNI.

• Exposure to working in or with a security operations centre (SOC).

• Experience in triaging issues and incidents in a structured, disciplined manner.

You will work as part of the Logistic Delivery team which operates a fleet of Potable Water Tankers to support both reactive and planned work. You will be joining a team that carries out the essential delivery of water to our customers. Within this team, you will learn how to take water samples before loading and discharging them into hydrants or reservoirs.

This role consists of being able to follow processes and procedures. You will be expected to drive both HGV 1 and HGV 2 vehicles which have manual and automatic gearboxes, plus various support vehicles such as Welfare vans.

  • 45 hours per week - 4 on, 4 off, 5 on, 3 off - £49,599
  • 38 hours per week - 4 on, 4 off - £42,435
  • This position is based at Maple Lodge STW.

  • Degree level or equivalent in their Engineering Discipline, and preferably with professional chartership.
  • Experience in designing new and rehabilitating wastewater utility civil infrastructure such as sewers, pumping stations, rising mains, CSOs and storage tanks.
  • Ability to assess the buildability of proposed engineering solutions.
  • Understanding of the regulatory environment to achieve compliance with our Engineering regulatory requirements.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Outage Technical Specialist to join the London Water Operations Team.

Our 2025-2030 business plan is the largest in Thames Water’s history, and we are making major investments at some of our key sites. Most, if not all, of these projects are going to need planned outages

This role will develop and deliver the outage plan for North East London's clean water assets – enabling the essential work to meet our regulatory commitments whilst ensuring safe & resilient operation of the supply system.

  • Base Location: Coppermills (E17 7HE). Additional travel across London to other sites for training and meetings will be required.
  • Working Pattern: Hybrid - 36 hours per week (Mon-Fri) 07:30 – 15:30, as well as inclusion on an out-of-hours rota once fully trained, for which you will receive additional payment.
  • Full UK Driving License Required.

 What will you be doing as an Outage Technical Specialist?

  • Communicate clearly with all stakeholders about their outage needs and allocated slots and dependencies, making informed decisions to meet required outcomes. 
  • Manage the enabling activities for all Coppermills and North East London planned outages. This involves leading outage delivery critical enablers to ensure completion in sufficient time or using risk assessment to escalate where this will not be achieved. 
  • Provide visible leadership by completing health and safety audits, reporting safety observations and supporting the site teams with the resolution of safety issues. 
  • Attend relevant site operations meetings, taking a lead in outage plan management, aligning with the performance targets of the North East London Area Operations Manager.
  • Technical Competence: Continuously develops and maintains operational expertise. Gain a full understanding of the Coppermills and North East London production sites and processes to be able to facilitate project scope visits by contractors as required.
  • Work to tight timescales with multiple stakeholders to deliver projects and enable activities on time and within scope.
  • Raise risks at the local Responsible Persons and risk meetings, working with the Risk Optimisation Coordinator/Technical Manager to ensure these are captured on the corporate risk system.
  • Incorporate on-site tank inspections into the outage plan to meet all regulatory and statutory deadlines.
  • Deliver key outages required to complete the Ofwat-funded schemes on time.
  • Ensure that the Coppermills major project outage plan is complementary to the wider London outage plan to deliver all activities at an agreed level of risk.
  • Risks to site output, resilience and quality are fully understood, communicated and mitigated in agreement with other outage stakeholders.

What should you bring to the role? 

  • Knowledge of water treatment or waste treatment operations is desirable. Training will be provided through completion of Management of Water Production.
  • Experience in project or programme management is desirable.
  • Good communication and the ability to develop effective relationships are essential.
  • Confidence to present, lead and influence teams with different skills and backgrounds collaboratively.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH or equivalent is desirable.
  • Strong IT skills (especially Excel) and an ability to interrogate data to produce and manage achievable plans.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to deliver against stretching operational targets and deliver to a plan.
  • Financial and commercial acumen is desirable.

  • Offering a salary of up to £57,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience (additional payment will be provided for OHC Coordinator standby).

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Technical Coordinator.  The role is a predominantly field-based role, working as part of a close and supportive Field Operations team within Ashford Common water treatment works. You will be focused on maintaining and improving the treatment process, managing projects and activities across a designated catchment, and providing support to the team on larger-scale projects.

You will be responsible for designing complex jobs for work at our treatment process and ensuring any prerequisites are in place to allow work to be completed by the Field Technicians.

Base Location: Ashford Common (WTW) - TW15 1RU

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday 7:30-15:36, 36 hours per week, opportunity to be included on a call-out rota where you will receive additional payment.

What you’ll be doing as a Technical Coordinator

This role is very diverse and consists of a wide range of tasks, some of which are listed below:

  • Use technical expertise and data captured from the field to design operationally critical jobs.
  • Highlight key operational risks across the area and present these to obtain funding.
  • Maintain the availability of plant and equipment and optimise treatment process performance.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide expert advice on technical issues and generate solutions to operational risks.
  • Carry out data analysis on pumping stations to recognise trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Obtain quotes, order materials and 3rd party services through our framework contractors.
  • Ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are managed correctly, through safe system of work approval, reviewing RAMS, permitting and site audits.

What you should bring to the role

  • Demonstrate good business/stakeholder awareness, together with an innovative and creative approach to problem solving.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with your field-based colleagues and key stakeholders.
  • Having previous experience in technical job design and/or prerequisite management within a utility company would be desirable.
  • Possess strong IT literacy skills as all work is managed through a SAP system, and user training for this and other standard software systems will be provided.
